Who we are.
Trinity Upholstery is a family-run upholstery and furniture manufacturing business based in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.
Our story goes back to 1989, when Riven Govender first started working in the furniture industry. By 1991, he had learnt the upholstery trade, gaining hands-on experience in furniture manufacturing, repairs and reupholstery.
In 1996, Riven started Ashfurn Upholstery, building on the skills and experience he had gained over the years. In 2008, Trinity Upholstery was established, continuing his work in the industry.
Today, Trinity Upholstery has a team of nine, working from our Ballito workshop. We specialise in manufacturing custom-made couches, lounge suites and upholstered furniture from scratch, as well as reupholstering existing furniture.
Riven remains hands-on in the business, overseeing the work that comes through the workshop. From choosing fabrics and discussing designs to manufacturing and finishing, our focus is on doing the job properly and making furniture that suits each client’s needs.
Whether it’s a new lounge suite, dining chairs that need reupholstering or an existing couch that needs attention, our team works with clients to find a practical solution.
Over Three Decades in Upholstery
Riven Govender started working in the furniture industry in 1989. What began as a job developed into a career in upholstery, furniture manufacturing and running his own business.
Today, Trinity Upholstery operates from Ballito, with a team of nine specialising in custom-made furniture, couch reupholstery and furniture repairs.
